The 2017-2018 Spreading Sunshine Board of Directors is filled with amazing individuals who have prayerfully agreed to join our team. They will provide leadership and assist us in making the ministry of Spreading Sunshine grow and flourish.
Abigail Sacran
Abigail Sacran is the founder of Spreading Sunshine and the Chairman of the Board. She is the wife to an amazing husband, Louis, and a stay-at-home, home-schooling mom to our two children, Lily and David. David was born with trisomy 21, also known as Down syndrome. The events and circumstances surrounding his birth created a desire to minister and serve families who find themselves dealing with a medically fragile child.
Louis Sacran
Louis Sacran is the husband of Abigail Sacran and the father of Lily and David. He is a counselor at Northeast Mississippi Community College, the associate pastor at Ripley Primitive Baptist Church, and an ACBC certified biblical counselor (Association of Certified Biblical Counseling). He is also the president of Christian Activities, Inc.
Diane Smith
Diane Smith serves as Executive Director of Spreading Sunshine. She is passionate about equipping, empowering and mobilizing people for ministry. Her experience includes nonprofit/church and small business settings, with a specialty in Leadership/Team Development, Communications, and Volunteer/HR Management. For the past six years, she has served families facing illness and disability. Diane and her husband David have four children.
Shelli Coleman-Dodd
Serving as a physician, Shelli Coleman-Dodd works at the Tupelo VA Clinic as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and PALS, ACLS certified. A member of the American Academy of Family Practitioners, Shelli has received numerous awards for her work in medicine. She serves her community through her work with the Junior Auxiliary of New Albany. She’s a member of the Hillside Baptist Church.
Kim Erickson
Kim Erickson is a writer, homeschool mom, and teacher. In the past, Kim has worked for non-profits as a writer and communications director. She is using that experience to help craft the Spreading Sunshine message. She has a Master’s Degree in Journalism from Regent University. Kim is married to Mark Erickson (another board member), and they have three children. In her spare time, she is training to become a therapy dog team with her dog, Cody.
Mark Erickson
With his background in accounting and finance, Mark Erickson brings financial expertise to the Spreading Sunshine board. He is currently the Chief Financial Officer at Circle Y Saddles. He worked for many years in church business administration and public accounting. Mark is married to Kim Erickson (another board member), and they have three children. Mark is actively involved in the worship ministry at his church as a keyboard player.
Fancy Fowler
Fancy Fowler lives in Ripley, MS with her husband Curt and son Case who will be in the 6th grade this year. In August, Curt and Fancy will celebrate 21 years of marriage. She’s a 2nd-grade teacher at Tupelo Christian Preparatory School. She and her husband are members of Ripley Primitive Baptist Church.
Jana Grayson
Jana Grayson is wife to Matt and mom to four wonderful kids. She spends her days educating her children and herself in the Grayson homeschool. Jana enjoys reading, running (at least in theory), playing board games with her family, and reading some more. She is a former member of the board of the homeschool co-op in which her family participates. Jana is excited to be a part of the work of Spreading Sunshine into the lives of families.
Matt Grayson
As the Senior Software Engineer at Speak Creative, Matt Grayson develops custom applications and solutions to ensure the success of the company in a variety of realms. A graduate of both Augusta University and The University of Tennessee, Matt holds a Masters in Information Science. Matt is married to Jana, who is also a board member.
Isaac Guess
Isaac Guess has served as pastor of Ripley Primitive Baptist Church in Ripley, Mississippi since 2008. A native of Memphis, Tennessee, he has pastored for 16 years. As part of his ministry in Ripley, he oversees the sponsorship of orphanages and childcare centers in the Tamil Nadu state of India. Later this summer, he will embark on his fourth visit to India. He also serves on the board of two other non-profit ministries: Brethren Basketball, Inc. and Christian Activities, Inc. Isaac resides in Blue Mountain, Mississippi, with his wife Rachel and their five children.
Rick Hanna
Rick Hanna brings almost 30 years of marketing and business operations expertise to the Spreading Sunshine board. He spent the early part of his career working for various advertising agencies. In 2007, he joined ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children’s Research. He currently serves as its Sr. Director, Marketing Operations. Rick and his wife, Stacy, have two (almost grown) children. They are active members of Faith Baptist Church in Bartlett, TN.
